I went to Seton Hall University in Newark, New Jersey, where I earned a JD and an MBA. So I have both a law degree and a business degree.
I have been practicing employment law for about 20 years.
When I first became a lawyer, I thought I wanted to work in mergers and acquisitions. While I was still in law school, I clerked at Chubb & Son, a large insurance company, working in the general counsel’s department.
Initially I worked on mergers and acquisitions, but I quickly realized it was not something I was passionate about. It just was not the right fit for me.
At the time, the general counsel and the president of the company noticed that and suggested I help their employment lawyer. They had one employment attorney handling issues for around 15,000 employees and she needed assistance.
I started working with the in house employment attorney as a clerk and found that I really enjoyed the work. I have been practicing employment law ever since.
I am admitted in the New York and New Jersey state courts, as well as the Southern District of New York, Eastern District of New York, Western District of New York, Northern District of New York, and the District of New Jersey.
I am also admitted to practice in the Second Circuit, Third Circuit, Fifth Circuit, Eighth Circuit, and Ninth Circuit Courts of Appeals.
Other lawyers would probably describe me as smart and diligent. I approach the practice of law with professionalism. Even though lawyers may be adversaries, that does not mean we have to treat each other poorly. We can still be respectful and professional.
One of my priorities is being responsive to my clients. My general rule is that I try to return phone calls within 24 hours. If someone calls in the morning and I cannot return the call right away, I make every effort to respond before the end of the day.
Outside of work, I am passionate about my family. I have a wonderful wife and two children, one in college and one in high school.
I am also a big sports fan. I enjoy watching sports and attending live sporting events. I also love music and going to concerts.
Many of the people I represent refer their friends and family to me. Those referrals mean a lot to me and say a lot about the trust my clients place in my work.
